Six bedrooms for up to twelve guests, each with its own en-suite bathroom, plus a guest bathroom with two toilets. Five are on the ground floor, each with a stoep. The sixth, the master, stands apart in its own pool-side building, with a view of the beach and the ocean.
Of the other bedrooms, two look across the salt pans and one looks onto the pool. White linen, woven rattan lights and steel-framed doors let the coast in, so open the doors and take your time.

Under the timber pergola, there’s a view both ways. The Atlantic and a small island on one side. On the other, the salt pans, where flamingos gather and the light on the water at dusk is worth staying in for.
A private courtyard poolA dip.
A little sun.
No particular plans.
A private, T-shaped courtyard pool sits between the villa and the dune, with loungers alongside and timber screens around it.
Private access to Sixteen Mile BeachThe beach is
part of the day.
The villa has private access to the sand. Follow the rope, past the buoys and over the dune. The timber boardwalk takes you from the pool courtyard to Sixteen Mile Beach.
Game drives on the neighbouring Buffalo Drift Game Farm, horse riding along the beach and a private chef can all be arranged.
Yzerfontein, West CoastSixteen miles
of sand.
The villa is on Sixteen Mile Beach, five minutes outside Yzerfontein, with the Atlantic on one side and the salt pans on the other. Sixteen Mile Beach is South Africa’s longest uninterrupted sandy beach. It runs from Yzerfontein toward the West Coast National Park, and the boardwalk brings you down onto it.
Flamingos gather on the pans. In season, whales and dolphins pass along this coast. None of that is booked for a particular morning; the sea keeps its own diary.
The house is newly built, and it is let to one party at a time.
